I
'4-1-20 I thought perhaps I should update this page as the pages below are 1-3 years old and so much has changed in the last month.
My husband is a nurse and for that reason, at this time, much has changed in our household. As for most healthcare workers they are in harm's way and so are their families. We have taken precautions like many families but in our home we can not relax. My 83 year old mother lives with us so we have her set up to be independent of us and isolated from us. She now has a mini fridge and a microwave. We visit her in the backyard at a distance. In addition, we have also put my husband in a separate living space with a tarp in the hallway from the floor to the ceiling. He has his own room and bathroom separate from me and our son Adam. He no longer enters the rest of the house. We visit him on the front patio at a distance. I put his meals through the tarp where he eats alone or when it's not too cold we join him on the patio. This is a difficult time for all of us and we are all making sacrifices to keep each other safe. I miss you all and am sad that our school year is going to end with remote learning. However, it does feel like the safest thing we can do. Some may think it is an overreaction- I say let's hope it is an overreaction! Please stay safe and keep eachother safe-let's do our part and stay as isolated as possible.
Ms. Vroman's Welcome
Ms.Vroman :)
This is my 22nd year teaching for GUSD. It is my third year teaching second grade!

I am a graduate of Cal State San Francisco. I earned my teaching credential from Cal State Northridge and my master's degree from Concordia University in curriculum development. I feel very fortunate that I love what I do for a living. I don't know if I will ever be able to retire! I truly see my classroom as my home away from home. I am touched everyday by your children.

MEET MY FAMILY

I wanted to include my mom and my sister. They are my inspiration! My mother taught for 36 years and I spent many summers helping her set up her classroom. She was an amazing teacher and she's an even more amazing mother! She also loved Kindergarten but told me not to finish my career without ever teaching second grade. I am so happy I listened to her after 19 years as a Kindergarten teacher I love being a second grade teacher!!
My sister is and always has been my best friend. She teaches Restorative Justice in the Santa Paula School District working with teachers and students to implement an alternative to expulsion and suspension.
